ABOUT LORENA

My name is Lorena Bowers. I am a Certified Biblical Counselor, Certified Christian Trauma Care Provider, and a traditional herbalist shaped more by seasons and self-study than by formal titles. I carry a deep love for what is true, lasting, and beautiful. I live in Tennessee with my husband, Taylor, who serves as the Executive Pastor of our church. We have two children who I have had the blessing of homeschooling for the last 12 years—one who has recently graduated and one still in the wonder-filled years of elementary school.
I was raised in the wild beauty of Colorado, one of seven children in a home where wonder and wisdom were welcome guests. My father—a doctor of both modern and naturopathic medicine—gave me a hunger to learn and an awe for the natural world. My mother, once a nurse and always a steady soul, gifted me a quiet faith and an anchor in Christ. I wasn’t handed herbal remedies growing up, but I was given the soil from which they grow: curiosity, reverence, and a deep belief that God speaks through what He has made.
Over time, I’ve watched a generation of young women grow up feeling more connected digitally, yet more alone in spirit. I’ve sat across from many who are unsure—unsure whether to leap into college, jump into work, or wait for clarity that hasn’t yet come. So often, what they really need is not a push toward productivity, but a place to breathe. A place to ask real questions, to grow in wisdom, to be surrounded by godly counsel and the quiet healing of nature.
That’s what I pray this year will be. A gentle turning back to what is good and grounding. A time of equipping—not only with knowledge, but with confidence, community, and a clearer sense of calling. I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I do believe in walking this road together, with Scripture in our hands and grace in our hearts. If you find yourself longing for something deeper, slower, and more whole—I welcome you into The Eden Year family.
